29th April to 30th May - Rayleigh Speedway Exhibition - Learn about the fascinating history of Rayleigh Speedway Stadium and the Rayleigh Rockets Speedway Team.


Sunday, 10th May - "Tracks, Trains and The Crown" -  a talkj by Alan Clarke of 34 years of Railway Policing and the famous faces he met along the way.

Thursday, 14th May  at 10am - Cllr Jo McPherson, Chairman of Rochford District Council, will give us an overview of Council procedure, some history of the Chamber and building and speak of her experience chairing Council meetings, with an opportunity for questions afterwards.  Following this visit, members of the Friends team will be going to the recently opened Mill Café and invite you to join them there.  Please note, that refreshments will be at your own expense.

There are 30 tickets available priced at £4 for Friends and £5 for non-Friends which can be purchased from the Museum.


JUNE/JULY/AUGUST - a New Exhibition "The Romans", Children's activities available.


Wednesday, 3rd June to Sat. 29th August  -  "The Romans", a NEW Exhibition.


Sunday, 14th June - Rayleigh Trinity Fair. The Museum will be open, and our usual gazebo will be in the High Street. 


Sunday, 12th July - Linda and Alan Davison are very kindly opening their garden in Rayleigh between 10am and 5pm to Friends.  Tickets will be on sale in the Museum from Wednesday 6th May, priced at £4 for Friends and £5 for Non-Friends.  There will be refreshments and cakes available to purchase and also some plants. 


Sunday 26th July - Special Opening in conjunction with Rayleigh Windmill to celebrate the Windmill's 20th Anniversary.


Sunday, 2nd August - British Fairies - Stories and Legends.  Enjoy fairy stories and legends from across the British Isles and meet some of the fairies who inhabit the world.  A talk by Jane Piper


September - Heritage Weekends - Maps Exhibition


October - Railways Exhibition


November - Remembrance Exhibition 


Sunday, 1st November - A talk by Jane Piper and Laura Adkins - "Essex Myths and Legends".


Saturday, 28th November  -  Make a Victorian Christmas Card ~ drop-in session during opening hours.
