GIFT of Legacy

As a small Charity, run entirely by Volunteers, Rayleigh Town Museum rely on the generous donations of all our Friend’s Group, Visitors and Sponsors.

By leaving a gift in your Will, you can help support the work of the Museum and the heritage of this wonderful Town of ours, for all future generations.

Every gift, large or small, will make a lasting difference to our future.

We do recommend that you seek legal advise when making or updating your Will, however the following might help you.

A residuary Gift is made from whatever is left over once gifts of money or items have been distributed and cost have been deducted.  This could increase in value if your estate increases and the amount can be distributed among a number of beneficiaries.

A pecuniary Gift is a specified sum of money.  You can consider asking your Solicitor to index link this so it keeps its value over the years.

A specific Gift is an object or asset relating to Rayleigh itself.

For example -

£25.00 - could pay for learning resources for our local school children to use when visiting the Museum.

£60.00 - could buy an acid-free box to safely store documents that record the history of Rayleigh.

£100.00 - would help with the daily running costs of the Museum.

£1,000.00 - would buy a new cabinet to help us display and preserve the growing number of artefacts for future generations.

You can guard against any change of our name or merger of the Charity (although none are planned for us) by including the phrase “and successor organisations” to cover this eventuality.
